The Winning 2009 Decatur Beer Festival Logo?

    Decatur Metro | August 4, 2009

    Beer Festival Logo 2009

My wife wonders whether this little mustachioed, bowler hat-wearing dude, who staggered into a page 3 article about grant proposals in the July Focus, is the winning logo for this year’s beer festival.

If so, I’m making sure to adopt his slightly European look for the festival: mustache, bowler hat and heels.  Then instead of sipping the beer, I’m going to toss it into my mouth just like little Jacques up there.

Oh man I’m going to be classy.

I see they’ve added “Craft” to the beer fest moniker. Trying to class it up a bit? Seems a bit…unnecessary.

It does, but I guess they don’t want a Budweiser table. I like this. I may even buy the t-shirt.

We need a Bud table. It draws at least some people away from the tables serving better beer.

The organizers are trying to limit the amount of crap beer each year and bring the festival back the original vision- US & import craft beer. I’m sure ABInbev (Bud) will be there, with their latest craft gimmick, but you won’t be seeing the smirnoff ices and mike’s hard lemonades.

Yep…I like this too. Would buy the Tshirt.

Note to Arts Festival….clever designs like this make Tshirt sales skyrocket!

I’m a big fan of mid-century illustration, so I like this design a LOT. I see a T shirt in my future.

Reminds me of one of the human characters in an old Pink Panther cartoon. I think he will look better with a wine glass hanging out at the Decatur Wine Festival.

        THAT’S who he looks like!

How much do you have to drink to get the shirt?

I wonder if the ticket price will go up again this year.

Glad everyone seems to like the new logo. Yes, it is the winner and was designed by Roger Fleming of Decatur. We will definitely have women’s tees again this year. Mpre good news- the ticket price will be the same again this year!

I thought you were on vacation, Cheryl.

Great to hear that prices will stay flat, but to be honest, if you charged more, I’d pay it. The Festival is damn near perfect.

I am on vacation, but still had to keep up with the Decatur news!

Love that everyone is liking him. I had a really good time working on it. So much fun I was actually surprised he got picked. It’s rare the personal fave gets the attention. Can’t wait to see how the T’s turn out.

Does one have to attend the festival to purchase a t-shirt?

not exactly what i expected, but its cool. my only critique Roger, is that the poor guy looks like he’s drinking urine.

Don’t let the heels fool you, Todd. Little guy can get his Bear Grylls on.
