Steve writes in that Decatur Realtor and community supporter, Ruth Golley, has passed away.

Decatur High School parent and realtor Ruth Golley, 51, passed away on October 9, 2008. A memorial service will be held 3 PM, Sunday, Oct. 12th, at Grace UMC, 458 Ponce de Leon Ave., Atlanta.  A complete notice will be published on Sunday. A. S. Turner and Sons.

    Ruth was a great lady, humorous, consumate professional, and a wonderful wife and mother and friend. I will miss her unending optimism, her ready smile and laughter, and knowing that I knew someone like Ruth Golley.

    Decatur has lost one of its best advocates and citizens; she was truly a wonderful and gifted lady and contributed greatly to this city. She fought a hard and determined battle, and beat the odds (her original diagnosis gave her six months; she battled three years.)
