Decatur/Atlanta Winter Weather Cancellations/Closures Open Thread – Wednesday

    Decatur Metro | February 11, 2014

UPDATE: Tweaking this post so that it can serve as a larger cancellation/closure thread.

CSD is closed tomorrow as if there was any doubt. From CSD Facebook….

City Schools of Decatur will be closed Wednesday, February 12, due to the impending, rapidly changing winter weather event. The Governor has declared a State of Emergency for the Atlanta-metro area as we continue to be under a Winter Storm Warning. We will assess the weather and road conditions again for Thursday, and let families and staff know if school is canceled through robo-calls, the CSD Facebook page and the CSD website.

        God Bless Square Pub!

That’s a great idea on Square Pub’s part. I wonder if any residents on tree-lined streets have thought of that, to possibly avoid the power outages? I heard Clark Howard recommend trying Priceline for some great deals in Buckhead the next two days in order to avoid the loss of power.

Correction: Clark Howard actually mentioned HotWire for finding hotel deals during the ice storm.

How the f__ is a lack of access to quality cured pork supposed to keep me safe? (I mean, aside from lessening the chances of a hear attack.)

Sugar Moon in Oakhurst says it will be open, though the hours will be modified. It says they will definitely have Valentine Goodies!

10:53 pm – still above freezing. No snow, no ice. So glad we lost a school day. Ok, ok, 20/20 hindsight is no fair. Here’s to fun snow tomorrow but no power outages. Square Pub sounds like the place to be while the kiddos are tearing up the cemetery halfpipes. Then home for hot chocolate and Olympic reruns.
