New FitWit Fitness Camp Starts Monday

    Decatur Metro | February 21, 2009

A good friend of mine, who swears by FitWit “boot camp”, asked me to post this info about their new camp session that starts on Monday.

Sounds like they are now using DHS during cooler temps, plus they’ve added an evening class that starts at 6p for those of us who just can’t manage the 6a class.  Also I didn’t realize they give discounts to educators, with the biggest discount of all going to CSD employees.  Can’t beat that!

See below for more info…or just click here to register.

FitWit Fitness Camp – Get in shape & give back to the community!

Next Camp – February 23 – April 3 – Join our fitness camp community and discover why 90% of our campers return and why 70% have never left. Every day presents a new challenge as campers push, pull, lunge, crawl, jump, run, sweat and laugh themselves into the best shape of their lives, and in the process, they meet their new best friends. AND a portion of your camp fee funds The FitWit Foundation – our own non-profit organization that provides free fitness programs for low-income children in Metro Atlanta.  Employees of schools and non-profits (to include universities) first-time sign up at $289 instead of $359 PLUS we’ll donate $30 back to the school or organization for every employee/parent that signs up.  This special rate is not on the website, so email for details.

Fleet Feet wants to get you out on those new, Decatur sidewalks!  Kim sends along this message…

Need a little incentive to get out the door and start exercising? Fleet Feet Decatur is teaming up with Brooks Sports from October to January to provide you with a carrot – free prizes – as part of our Run for Rewards program.

    Here’s the low-down:

WHAT: Run for Rewards – A 12-week fun run/walk program that rewards you for showing up and sweating.
WHEN: Oct. 14 – Jan. 15 on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. during that evening’s fun run/walk. We will offer a three- and five-mile course. All abilities (runners and walkers) are welcome!
WHERE: Fleet Feet Sports Decatur (431 W Ponce de Leon Avenue in downtown Decatur)
HOW: Bring your shoes and join us on our fun run/walk to receive one punch on your Run for Rewards card.
    – With multiple punches you will receive free Brooks drawstring bags, technical shirts and hats. What’s more, the top three participants will receive a FREE pair of Brooks shoes.
    – Bring a friend, and we’ll put two punches on your card the first time they join you.
WHY: For the free stuff! (Oh, and also to live FIT and stay active.)

    Oakhurst Boot Camp

    Decatur Metro | June 1, 2008

Though I’ve always found its name rather intimidating, I’ve been told that FitWit’s “Boot Camp” sessions are geared to all fitness levels.  In fact, we have a good friend that swears by it.

Once only available in Grant Park, FitWit has recently started having 6a and 6p classes in Oakhurst Park as well.  A new 6 week session actually starts tomorrow, for those interested.  (lots of advance notice, I know)

For prices and a look at the workout routine, check out the group’s website or watch the video above.
