New Cast Members Join Saturday Night Live
Saturday Night Live (SNL) has welcomed a fresh group of featured players to its ranks for the upcoming season. Among the newcomers, five talents have been introduced, although one is a familiar face getting a new role.
As the future of numerous current SNL cast members remains uncertain, NBC has confirmed that Ben Marshall from the comedy trio Please Don’t Destroy has been promoted to a featured player. He is joined by comedians Tommy Brennan, Jeremy Culhane, Kam Patterson, and Veronika Slowikowska. Following Marshall’s transition from the trio, Please Don’t Destroy will cease to exist. According to Variety, while Martin Herlihy will continue with SNL’s writing team, John Higgins will leave the show to explore new opportunities.
This announcement comes on the heels of the departure of several SNL cast members including Devon Walker, Emil Wakim, Michael Longfellow, and Heidi Gardner, none of whom will return for Season 51, premiering on October 4 on NBC.

Brennan, recognized as a Just for Laughs New Face of Comedy in 2023, has showcased his humor on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Culhane is affiliated with the Upright Citizens Brigade and frequently appears on Dropout TV. Marshall, primarily known for his part in Please Don’t Destroy, has been writing for SNL since 2021. Patterson, a stand-up comedian, features regularly on the Kill Tony podcast. Slowikowska has appeared on series such as Tires and What We Do in the Shadows. As of now, SNL has yet to confirm the status of several veteran cast members including Michael Che, Mikey Day, Andrew Dismukes, Chloe Fineman, Marcello Hernandez, Colin Jost, Ego Nwodim, Sarah Sherman, Kenan Thompson, Bowen Yang, Ashley Padilla, and Jane Wickline. TVLine will provide updates as more information becomes available.
