The AJC reports that a DeKalb County employee was hit by a car on crossing West Trinity Place on her way to work at the DeKalb Courthouse Wednesday morning.

The woman’s injuries were described by Decatur’s Deputy Police Chief Keith Lee as “serious”, but not life-threatening.  The 22 year-old driver of the car was charged with failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

Update: The city manager tells me that she thinks “branding” just means the name of the establishment selling the draft beer.

The City Attorney reviewed [a] request and offered his opinion that “Growlers” could be sold by businesses that have a valid alcoholic beverage license for the retail sale of beer for off premises consumption as long as they filled a branded glass container with draft beer from a keg that has been purchased from a wholesaler; they cap and seal the container; and, the contents are consumed off-premises.

This is great news for beer lovers! Seems to me like the only potential issue here is the “branded glass container”. Traditionally most growlers aren’t “branded”. I wonder if there’s a work-around here or if the city commission would have to make a change to the ordinance.

The camps will focus on a classic text and will use theater, film and improv to enhance participants’ imagination, communication, confidence and collaboration skills. To commemorate the 100th anniversary of Tennessee Williams, this year’s program will include an adaptation of one of his classic works. Each camp will culminate in a lively public performance.
