Anyone Bringing The Sane This Weekend?

A recent post on Fresh Loaf about Georgia participants in this weekend’s Daily Show “Rally to Restore Sanity” in Washington D.C. (video above) reminded me that a couple weeks back someone emailed in asking if I could find out if any other Decaturites would be joining them at the rally in D.C.

So, here I go – Will there be a Decatur faction of sanity in D.C. this weekend?  You people seem pretty wacko to me.

My friends/neighbors are going – I’d join them if I could but logistics prevent it.

Yes, there will be a Decatur faction of sanity in D.C. this weekend. We’ll be at the museum, or having dinner in one of the ‘hoods, or enjoying a visit with friends who happen to live there, or…well, you get the idea. Look for us on the mall, we’ll be the people from Decatur.

watch yourself, or I’ll join you! :)

      “Wacko.” That’s interesting word choice.

I would certainly be inclined to share that opinion about a few posters here, and I’m sure the feeling would be mutual.

So are you trying to suggest something about your hidden feelings about Decaturites in general? Or just the loyal Jon Stewart viewers? :)

Neither. I was just feeling a bit feisty and wanted to poke. Any and all descriptions of my readers also apply to me.

A good friend of mine who is currently a first-year law student at Georgia State has chartered a bus for a bunch of his classmates to go up for it. I’m sure some of them are at least temporary Decaturites.

GREAT! Be sure to dress as your biggest fear. (I’m having a hard time choosing, since I’m afraid of so many things.)

      I’m afraid to go.

I think it would be sort of embarrassing if a bunch of fights broke out at this event.

Sort of like a foot to the head of a moveon organizer?

Ah- If only I could transfer a Huff Po comment over to this reference. Of course it’s beyond inappropriate, so I’ll spare DM the work of deleting it.

Awesome. That kind of absurd, naive dismissiveness is leading to a huge Republicon victory on Tuesday. Great work, everyone, please keep it up. :-)

You’re right. Christine O’Donnell and Joe Miller will be proudly be leading the nation to victory…

RepubliCON is right. Have we ever seen so many be manipulated so blatantly by so few?

Sure wish the Libertarian candidates could get decent news coverage. Bet there’s lots of folks who’d like an option C. Reading online stuff is not the same as hearing from the person.

(Also, if the DM legal crowd would give some nods on the judge races, it’d be terrific! :0)

I see satire and sarcasm have replaced national debate. Excellent, that’s great.

It is the unfortunate destiny of the ridiculous to be ridiculed. And I mean that in a wholly non-partisan way. :-)

It’s only possible if there’s a vacuum to start with.

Meet at the Gazebo at noon on Sunday? Anyone?

Oops, make that Saturday. Noon at the Marta Plaza?

How about in front of the tvs at the new Square Pub?

(I get thirsty when rallying! :0)

My son is going. He’s riding one of the free Huffington buses from New York, where he is currently looking for work. I would if I could.

Sadly, I am not attending. I did, however, download the free app. Might be useful if you are going.
