Your Random Quote of the Day

    Decatur Metro | October 5, 2010

From last night’s Decatur City Commission meeting…

I’ve received over 400 emails begging for a secret stash of [Decatur Beer Festival tickets].

    – the City of Decatur’s Katie Abel

Over on Craiglist, there are currently 24 entries selling tickets to the uber-popular Fest, with individual ticket prices averaging around $80.  That’s been about the going rate the last two years, but I don’t recall quite so many entries in years past.

      Holy geez.
Remind me not to go ANYWHERE near the square when this is happening.

Actually, the reason tickets are so scarce is because they limit them. There shouldn’t be too many people out there.

But I think they ought to raise the prices $10 or $20 apiece, if this is so popular and sells out so quickly. And maybe go online and ask people not to scalp tickets.

I believe this festival donates all or almost all profits to community organizations. So, it doesn’t seem right that some folks are scalping tickets.

I’m with you! I will be hanging out in Oakhurst that weekend.

maybe the festival should be a 2 day festival? Friday and Saturday? separate tickets each day?

How about a continuous 48 hour beer marathon. As the EMTs carry out the unconscious, additional ticket holders could be admitted at the gate.
