Wolf Camera Becomes T-Mobile? Uh…NO!
Decatur Metro | January 27, 2010UPDATE: Hmm…according to Carl, there has always been a T-Mobile sign in the Wolf window. Oh well…can’t win ‘em all!
I heard buzz last week that there was finally some action inside the old Wolf Camera location at the edge of the CVS plaza on West Ponce.
Driving by this morning, I noticed a giant, pink sign in the window announcing a “T-Mobile Authorized Dealer”.
Does the neighboring AT&T store have some new competition next door?
Well, they don’t have any competition with regard to their product. I don’t think T-Mobile stacks up against AT&T or Verizon.
Also, with regard to the AT&T store in that plaza. There’s a kid working there…I want to say his name is Robert but that probably isn’t right. He worked there a few years after the store opened, and then he was gone a year or two, and now he’s back. He may be the manager of the store now.
That guy is a straight shooter and has always provided me (and friends) with the “inside scoop” on phones, rate plans, and effective warranty claims.
I know the guy you mentioned. I love my AT&T system, and this store has always provided superior service with no hint of condescension for non-techy people like me.
Is this different from the same signage always remaining from Wolf?
Oh dear…maybe not. I sorta thought of that before I posted. Ack!
Is this an example of “drive-by media?”
Indeed! It’s like doing footwork, without the work or effort!
how i’ve missed him. . . .
Just passed there. It’s the same sign that’s remained on one of the abandoned fixtures. Wolf/Ritz became a TMO dealer nationally in (I think) 2004.
Just passed by there. It’s the same sign that remained on one of the abandoned fixtures.
Thread = epic fail!
And yet no keyboard cat. . . .
Keyboard cat has been added above!
Indeed. And while I could have just deleted it and saved some face, that’s not fair to folks that read it early on.
Besides it’s a good exercise in humility. I highly recommend making very public mistakes on a weekly basis. In fact, I’m happy to share the wealth!
Feel free to document stupid mistakes you’ve made in the past 48 hours below!
Missed a turn on Buford Highway and ended up being routed through downtown Atlanta all the way to Peachtree Road.!/! It’s the concrete tunnel from heck with no exits.
