Decatur eLife to Launch Decatur Education TV
Decatur Metro | June 13, 2008One day after Decatur received the green light to become a charter school system, Decatur eLife is announcing the launch of Decatur Education TV.
The new internet channel promises to air “news, features and info” for the families of children attending City Schools of Decatur. They even promise to record and post video of Board of Ed meetings throughout the coming year.
From eLife’s press release…
Decatur Education TV will work with CSD Superintendent Phyllis Edwards to provide coverage of Board of Education meetings during the 2008-2009 school year. DETV will include interactive features such as live chat and viewer feedback.
“We also have the ability to cover some events live as well as archive those events for later viewing and downloads,” Berry adds. “The Internet offers another great opportunity for parents and guardians to stay engaged with what’s going on in Decatur City Schools at the times that work best for them.”
Berry said DETV will include features from Decatur City Schools’ Parent/Teacher Associations and other community organizations such as the Decatur Bulldog Athletic Booster Club, the Decatur Education Foundation, and the Decatur High School Alumni Association.”
With all of the new responsibilities that parents will have under a charter system, this sounds like a great new resource.
