On a less positive note, two significant characters will not return for Season 2. Their departure is set to significantly alter the power structures within the show’s central setting, and disrupt several ongoing romantic entanglements.
New faces are also set to appear next season, including what appears to be the estranged wife of a prominent ranch hand, briefly introduced in the finale of Season 1. Though initially played by Erica Dasher (from Jane by Design) in a veiled appearance, she will make her full debut in Season 2.
“We’re excited to be back and are eager to amplify the steam, drama, and romance that Ransom Canyon is beloved for,” was announced as production resumed. A trailer for the new season has yet to be released.
