The final season of Netflix’s YOU captured the top spot in Nielsen’s U.S. streaming rankings for the week ending April 21, amassing nearly 1.7 billion minutes of viewership over its 53 episodes.

According to Nielsen, the viewer demographics for YOU reveal that the largest segment was Adults aged 18-34, making up 37% of the audience, with women comprising 64% of this group.

Following closely, Netflix’s Ransom Canyon secured the second position with 1.3 billion minutes watched over 10 episodes. Meanwhile, The Last of Us, a series offered through Max, attracted 937 million minutes of viewing across its 12 episodes.

Top 10 Original Streaming Shows

In the rankings for original content, YOU and Ransom Canyon were joined by Netflix’s Black Mirror, which saw 734 million minutes viewed across 33 episodes. Disney+’s Andor made a notable re-entry with a peak 721 million minutes over 15 episodes, while Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale logged 698 million minutes across 61 episodes.

Nielsen highlighted that approximately 65% of the views for Andor came from its first three new episodes, suggesting that some viewers were revisiting Season 1. Andor also emerged as the week’s most popular show among male viewers, capturing 67% of its audience.

Completing the top 10 list for original series were Netflix’s The Residence, Love on the Spectrum U.S., and Battle Camp, along with Paramount+’s MobLand and Prime Video’s The Wheel of Time.
