New and Familiar Faces Shake Up Jax’s Universe in Reasonable Doubout Season 3

When the third season of Reasonable Doubt premieres on Hulu, viewers can expect a mix of new and familiar faces that promise to stir up the life of the protagonist, Jax Stewart. The show, a creation of Raamla Mohamed and the first scripted drama from Onyx Collective, aims to deliver culturally rich and captivating content.

The series stars Emayatzy Corinealdi, known for her roles in Ballers and Hand of God, as Jax Stewart. Jax is a dynamic criminal defense lawyer in Los Angeles known for her aggressive and sometimes ethically dubious courtroom strategies. Alongside her professional challenges, she navigates the complexities of a deteriorating marriage and the demands of motherhood.

Alongside Corinealdi, the cast includes McKinley Freeman as Jax’s husband Lewis, Tim Jo as Daniel, Angela Grovey as Krystal, Thaddeus J. Mixson as Spenser, and Aderinsola Olabode as Naima.

Morris Chestnut, who joined the series in Season 2 as the lawyer Corey Cash, will make recurring appearances in Season 3. Although his character left Jax’s firm after resolving a major case, Chestnut’s role continues to add intrigue to the series. According to Corinealdi, the exact nature of Chestnut’s return is one of the season’s highlights, as revealed in a recent interview during Disney’s 2025 Upfront.

McKinley Freeman has expressed enthusiasm for the returning cast, particularly praising Morris Chestnut’s impact on the show. “Having a talent like Morris Chestnut only enhances our series, and we are lucky to have him back,” he said. Freeman also highlighted the exceptional talent of the new cast members joining this season.

Plot and New Characters in Season 3

The upcoming season will see Jax Stewart finding her life mundane after intense personal and professional turmoil in the previous season. The opportunity to represent a troubled former child star seems like the perfect chance to add some excitement back into her life. However, her client’s chaotic personal life and a threatening new associate at her law firm put Jax’s career and achievements at risk.

Season 3 introduces several new characters, including Kyle Bary as Ozzie, a former sitcom star; Rumer Willis as Ozzie’s stylist and girlfriend; Brandee Evans as Ozzie’s agent; April Parker Jones as Ozzie’s authoritative mother and manager; Keith Arthur Bolden as Ozzie’s father; and Richard Brooks as a figure from Jax’s past who poses a new threat to her stability.

Significantly, Joseph Sikora will join the regular cast as Bill Sterling, a lawyer at Jax’s firm who began his legal career after a decade in the Coast Guard. His ambitions to become a partner mean that his relationship with Jax will be crucial.

Corinealdi teases an intense dynamic between Jax and the new character, Bill Sterling. “Jax does not tolerate incompetence and is fiercely protective of her achievements. The interaction between her and Bill Sterling will definitely be something to watch,” she remarks.

With these developments, Season 3 of Reasonable Doubt is set to bring more drama, character development, and intrigue, continuing to engage viewers with its complex characters and twisting plotlines.
