New Ironheart Trailer: To Protect People, Wakanda Forever’s Riri Williams Must Think ‘Outside the Box’

In the latest trailer for Marvel Television’s Ironheart, tech prodigy Riri Williams follows her late stepfather’s advice to deconstruct herself to truly understand her essence.

Set to launch on Disney+ on Tuesday, June 24 at 9/8c, including the first three episodes, Ironheart unfolds after the events of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The series introduces Dominique Thorne as Riri, who aims to leave her mark on the world by returning to her native Chicago.

The show highlights Riri’s innovative approach to creating iron suits. While striving to achieve her goals, she gets entangled with the enigmatic yet alluring Parker Robbins, also known as “The Hood,” portrayed by Anthony Ramos, as per the series synopsis.

The cast also includes Lyric Ross (This Is Us) playing Riri’s best friend Natalie Washington, Alden Ehrenreich (Solo: A Star Wars Story) as Joe McGillicuddy, Manny Montana (Graceland) as Cousin John, Matthew Elam as Xavier Washington, Anji White as Riri’s mother Ronnie, and reportedly Regan Aliyah as Zelma Stanton.

Ryan Coogler, executive producer and director/co-writer of Black Panther, expressed his admiration for Ironheart. He recounted that Brian Michael Bendis introduced the character in 2016 as a continuation of the Iron Man legacy. In the comics, Riri Williams, a student at MIT from a background vastly different from Tony Stark’s, shares his desire to improve society. Over time, she establishes herself as Ironheart, with writers like Eve Ewing later taking her story back to Chicago.

Chinaka Hodge takes the lead as the head writer for the series, with Sam Bailey and Angela Barnes directing episodes. Alongside Hodge, the executive production team includes Coogler, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Zoie Nagelhout, Sev Ohanian, and Zinzi Coogler.
