End of the Road for Long Beach Police Series
Prime Video has decided to discontinue On Call, a police drama from Dick Wolf, as reported by Deadline. Officers Traci Harmon and Alex Diaz, portrayed by actors in the show, will consequently be absent from the screens and the streets of Long Beach, California.
The show was halted just four months following the debut of its first season, which featured a total of eight episodes and premiered on January 9.
Possibilities for a New Home
Despite the cancellation, there is still hope for the series as it is currently being offered to other streaming platforms. According to Deadline, discussions are underway, particularly with Peacock—which already hosts other series from Wolf, such as Law & Order and the #OneChicago series—about possibly picking up On Call for a second season.
