Reunion of the Reagans on Set of CBS’ New Spinoff
The production of CBS’ new show, a spinoff of Blue Bloods titled Boston Blue, is underway and has brought together at least two members of the Reagan family. Bridget Moynahan, known for her role as Erin Reagan, was spotted on the Toronto set, confirming her participation in the debut episode scheduled for Friday, October 17.
Not only is Moynahan making a special guest appearance in the series, but she is also set to direct one of the episodes in the first season of Boston Blue. This isn’t her first time behind the camera, as she has previously directed three episodes of Blue Bloods.
Expanding the Reagan Universe
The new series Boston Blue, which will air on Fridays at 10/9c, features Donnie Wahlberg reprising his role as Danny Reagan. In this extension of the original series, Danny takes up a new job with the Boston Police Department. He teams up with Detective Lena Silver, portrayed by Sonequa Martin-Green from Star Trek: Discovery, who is the oldest daughter of a well-known family in law enforcement.

According to earlier reports from TVLine, Danny’s transition to Boston is part of a larger family move. Mika Amonsen, recognized for her roles in The Republic of Sarah and Hudson and Rex, joins the cast as a series regular playing Sean Reagan, Danny’s youngest son. Sean’s relocation to Boston to begin his career as a patrolman at the Boston PD hints at the reasons behind his father’s move to the city.
This family-centric and crime drama continues to weave the intricate lives of the Reagans into its narrative, now expanding its geographical and thematic horizons with this new spinoff. As usual, the show promises to delve deep into the dynamics of law enforcement mingled with family values, only this time, set against the backdrop of Boston’s historic and bustling cityscape.
