Decatur Beach Party Tonight!

Decatur Metro | June 15, 2012

The Decatur Minute reminds us of tonight’s Decatur Beach Party along Ponce.   Tickets are $7 in advance and $10 at the door. Kids 3-12 are $5 each.  You can still purchase advance tickets HERE.

The beach party is the Decatur Business Association’s largest fundraiser of the year and helps support other events throughout the year in Decatur.  A bit more info from the Minute…

Please remember that no outside food or drinks are allows inside the festival gates-also no coolers or pets, sorry!

Finally, our Decatur Fire Department will be collecting canned goods and other non-perishable items for our local food banks. The summer is a tought time for those organizations so please bring us supplies to help stock the shelves. Drop your items in the big red barrels at any of the entry gates tomorrow.

Also, Patch has some cool photos of the sand on the Square as of this morning.  Neat shots!

Private Bank of Decatur Approved, Moving Into One Town Center on East Ponce

Decatur Metro | June 15, 2012

Drew sends along this press release about Decatur’s newest bank, Private Bank of Decatur…

Private Bank of Buckhead is expanding, with the addition of Private Bank of Decatur, which will be located in the One Decatur Town Center development at 150 East Ponce de Leon Avenue (corner of Church Street and East Ponce). Earlier this year the bank gained state approval for the expansion and received FDIC approval on June 13.

…Crawford notes that Private Bank of Decatur, which is a division of Private Bank of Buckhead, will be led by banking veteran Judy Turner. Two bankers who previously worked with Turner at Decatur First Bank, Melanie Funk and Jamie Ensley are already part of the team. Private Bank of Decatur will open its new physical location as soon as the renovations to the space are complete.

Here’s a link to the bank’s location if you’re not clear where One Town Center is located.
