Atlanta: A Lot Can Change in Two Decades

Decatur Metro | February 13, 2012

Am I the last person to discover this new-for-2012 blog, entitled Return to Atlanta??

What the gist of it?  Well here’s the two-sentence summary…

From 1989 to 1995 I roamed Atlanta taking photos of scenes that were sure to vanish.  Two decades later I’m revisiting the same spots to see how things have changed.

Curbed Atlanta [who gets my hat-tip] describes the site as a “more intimate version of Atlanta Time Machine”.  I think that’s a pretty accurate description.  So all you ATM lovers out there, you may want to add Return to Atlanta to your regular rotation.  I know I will!

Renfroe “Back to Their Future” Dance and Auction – Friday, March 16th

Decatur Metro | February 13, 2012

Emily writes in…

The event, “Back for their Future: 2012 Renfroe Auction,” will be held Friday, March 16th at 7:00pm at the Old Courthouse on the Square. We will be hosting a good old-fashioned dance with silent and live auction to benefit the arts, clubs, and academic enrichment programs at the school. Tickets can be purchased in advance online for $35 or at the door for $50. Ticket price includes dinner, drinks and entertainment. There will be many great items up for bid, including vacations, art, sports and fitness memberships and food experiences (like a private beer cheese dinner in the “cellar” at Brick Store), and more.

The website for the auction, www.BackForTheirFuture.com, has descriptions of some of the items as well as a link to purchase tickets. We also have a Facebook page at “2012 Renfroe Auction.”
