Feast Restaurant Closing Its Doors

Decatur Metro | February 22, 2012

Feast’s owner Teri Rogers just sent out this note…

Hey Everybody!

I just wanted to let everybody know that I have decided to close the doors of Feast.

After seven years of business, it has come time to say good-bye. Most of you know that I am battling breast cancer for the second time. Although I am very positive that I will kick this disease again, it has been difficult for me to stay as focused on the business as I should be. For the first time in my life, I am going to put my health first.

In addition, our sales have suffered with this challenging economy. It has been a difficult year, not only Feast, but for our customers as well. Although I have enjoyed seeing your friendly and supportive faces over the years, there just does not seem to be enough business to cover my expenses, much less make a profit. I appreciate the patronage that you have all given me. Most of you feel like family so this has been a very difficult decision. If it were not for all of you, I would not have been able to make it to seven years.

Rep. Stephanie Stuckey Benfield Will Not Seek Re-Election

Decatur Metro | February 22, 2012

Just received this press release.

Rep. Stephanie Stuckey Benfield to become Executive Director of GreenLaw, will not seek re-election to State House

State Representative Stephanie Stuckey Benfield has announced her plans to become the new Executive Director of GreenLaw, a Georgia environmental advocacy organization, dedicated to clean air and clean water. Benfield will begin her new position at the conclusion of this year’s legislative session.

An outdoors enthusiast and nature lover, Rep. Benfield has been a vocal environmental advocate during her 14 years as a member of the Georgia House’s Natural Resources Committee. Her commitment to clean water and clean air issues grew even stronger after her son was diagnosed with asthma.

Got an Opinion About Decatur’s Level of Traffic Enforcement?

Decatur Metro | February 22, 2012

Apparently the City is posting the three extra questions on the currently in-the-field Citizen Survey on the Open City Hall website.  Here’s the second one…

Do you think that the current level of traffic enforcement by the Decatur Police Department is too little, too much or about right?

38 people have replied so far.

Don’t mind me.  I’m just going to back slowly out of this virtual room.  (Clop, clop, clop…scamper, scamper, scamper)
