Decatur Metro Wins Runner-Up Reader’s Pick in “Best of Atlanta” Awards

    Decatur Metro | September 23, 2010

Hey, hey!  An unexpected surprise this morning!

It looks like DM is the Runner-Up, Reader’s Pick in the “Best Local Blog” category in Creative Loafing’s Best of ATL this year.

Last year, we were humbled and honored to “take home” Creative Loafing’s “Best Local Blog” Critics Award, but this year’s achievement is almost MORE frackin’ awesome because the nod comes from the masses!    Thanks everyone!

Hey, and look who else won a Reader’s Runner Up – our good buddy and “Decatur’s Own” Andisheh Nouraee!  Andy ranked second only to some guy named Neil Boortz as “Best local personality to follow on Twitter“.

You can view the full results of CL’s Best of Atlanta Awards HERE.

Congrats! You really deserve it. I especially like how you manage to keep nastiness out of this blog without being heavy handed. BTW, the competition is an unfair comparison, just like the SAT scores–Decatur is much smaller than Atlanta so of course an Atlanta blog came in first. But I think you’ll win next year. The Dollar General thread alone makes you a shoo-in!

      What Karass said.
I also saw that Decatur got best overall neighborhood, Farm Burger got best farm to table, and the DBF got best book event! You are in great company. Thank you for the hard work you do on this blog.

Thanks Parker. I want to do a Decatur wrap-up post, but the way the winners are posted on the website this year, it will take a LOT of clicking of compile. SHould be easier if I can get my hands on a hard-copy.

I just looked at the blog that won first place. Not that it’s bad, but it’s not as informative as this one. This is a must read for anyone in Decatur. Congrats, DM.
