Little Shop of Stories writes in with news that the creator of the “Knuffle Bunnies” series, Mo Willems, is coming to the Decatur Library on Thursday, October 7th at 7pm.
See the poster below (click to enlarge) on how to obtain tickets for this event.
If anyone doesn’t know these books, they are great! They are perfect for beginning readers because the text is simple, repetitive, and informed by the illustrations. But the plots are hilarious and sophisticated, almost ironic, nothing like Dick and Jane, more similar to the “George and Martha” books. One of the few beginning reading series that adults can enjoy too. And they are popular long after students move to higher levels of text because the plot lines and illustrations are so funny.
Whoops. I was actually thinking of the Pigeon, Pig, and Elephant series by this author, not the Knuffle Bunny series which I don’t know but I bet is great.

I don’t like Nuffle Bunny because, like many things (e.g., commercials) it presents the father as stupid and the mother as not.
I can only imagine how much you dislike Father Knows Best, Daddy Daycare and Mr. Mom.
Am I reading this right? For 2 adults and 2 kids, I would need to buy two books to get two tickets….?
Love Pigeon series!
