El Tesoro Website Up – Menu Now Online

Decatur Metro | February 16, 2008

It looks like Decatur’s newest Mexican restaurant is gearing up for its opening later this month (the website just says “February” but we heard in an earlier post it would be Feb 25th) .

The nicely designed Flash-based website is now fully functional and is already announcing fiestas in March and April!

Check out the extensive menu here (pdf).

Can’t wait!

Sample El Tesoro Tomorrow at Mingei World Arts

Decatur Metro | February 16, 2008

Ann of Mingei World Arts writes in to let us know that you can preview some items on El Tesoro’s menu tomorrow from 1-4p in front of her shop at 427 Church Street.

Here’s Ann’s note in full…

El Tesoro, soon to be Decatur’s newest restaurant, will be sampling street tacos in front of Mingei World Arts at 427 Church Street tomorrow, Sunday, Feb. 17 from 1-4pm. Mingei is hosting a booksigning for a book on Oaxacan woodcarvers (Changing Dreams by Shep Barbash and Vicky Ragan) and Tesoro is joining up to add a festive flair and give us an opportunity for a tasty preview of their new business! Come on down!

Always great to see our local businesses supporting one another!

AJC Frames Mason Mill PATH as Bikers vs. Hikers

Decatur Metro | February 16, 2008

Lately, the AJC seems to be picking up many of the stories that have concerned us lil’ Decatur blogs.

Today the paper is profiling the battle up at Mason Mill Park over the prospective PATH trail, which has received extensive coverage by InDecatur.

In my humble opinion it still sounds like a bikers vs. hikers argument with neighbors on either side.
