Commerce at Trinity Ave is Getting Repaved

    Decatur Metro | September 17, 2013

    trinity

You all know this lovely intersection?  The one where if you’re coming down Commerce a bit too quickly you bottom out when you hit Trinity?  Well, it’s getting paved!

City Manager Peggy Merriss announced at the Decatur City Commission meeting last night that all the repaving projects for the fiscal year had been completed and that they came in $40,000 under budget.  As such, the city is going to repave this intersection at the cost of approximately $38,000.  Will it help with the bottoming out?  Probably a bit.  But either way, I think we can all agree that this intersection could definitely use a little TLC.

The milling and repaving will take place next Tuesday, September 24th.  Should take about 5 hours, according to Ms. Merriss.

Drexel Ave, Parkside Circle and Chevelle Lane are also scheduled for a fresh coat of asphalt this year.  Avary says in his post that work on all projects should be complete by…CLICK HERE!
