Season 22 of Grey’s Anatomy: What’s Next?
The popular TV show Grey’s Anatomy concluded its previous season with Teddy deciding to end her open marriage with Sophia Bush’s unpredictable character, Cass. However, as the series gears up for its 22nd season, premiering on ABC on Thursday, October 9th at 10/9c, the dynamic between these characters could take a new turn.
“It seems quite plausible,” showrunner Meg Marinis commented to TVLine regarding the rekindling of the romance between the characters. “Sophia is a wonderful addition to our cast, and we would be thrilled to have her return.”
The distinct spark that Sophia Bush, a former star of Chicago P.D., brought to her role as Cass offered a fresh contrast to the familiar faces of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. Marinis acknowledged this enthusiasm.

“Sophia truly is a dynamic presence. She infuses a lot of vitality into her scenes,” she explained. “The persona we designed for her mirrors this vibrancy, captivating both colleagues and friends alike. It’s always exciting to develop her character from a writing perspective.”
