Downtown Decatur’s Status as a “Great Neighborhood” Called Out in USA Today

    Decatur Metro | January 21, 2014

This is pretty cool.  Yvette sent along this photo via Twitter of a page from USA Today recommending the American Planning Association list of “great neighborhoods” to business travelers.  As was initially announced back in October, Downtown Decatur was featured on the APA’s list last October.

Here’s the article that went along with the list, if you’re interested.

And we were listed as a “great place” with only a 45% tree canopy? Go figure….

This is really cool. Thanks for sharing!

Any publication that includes Newark as a “great place” is suspect.

But that’s just my opinion, and everyone is entitled to it. :-)

Only one park, not the whole city! If you’ve got to be the crime capital of the U.S., it’s nice to have a great public space to commit it in!

Hope this designation can be effectively used to market our hotels to business travelors and lure other economic development.
