Decatur Christmas Tree Lighting
Thursday, December 5th | 7pm (singing starts about 6:30)
It’s time for the 5th annual Decatur Christmas Tree! Thanks to all the local businesses who help make this possible each year! The tree will be up all holiday season, but the lighting is a fun event for the whole community. We block off East Court Square and have hot chocolate, treats, carols, snow, and a visit from Santa! Hope to see you there!
Special thanks to all the local businesses who help make this happen: Appolinsky & Associates, Café Alsace,Cakes & Ale, The Cooks Warehouse/Sherlock’s, Decatur Downtown Development Authority, Fabu Spa, Harry Norman Realtors,Homegrown, King Tree Experts, Leon’s Full Service, McCurdy & Candler, My Parent’s Basement, Mudhouse Design, My Own Bookkeeper, Oakhurst Market, Private Bank of Decatur, Squash Blossom, Starbucks, Steinbeck’s Ale House, Universal Joint, Veritas Planning Group, Vivid Boutique, Wild Oats & Billy Goats, and Worthmore Jewelers.

YAY!!!! I so appreciate all of our merchants’ getting together to do this for us–it’s just one of the things that make living in Decatur so special.
The tree was cut yesterday and tied to the building last night. The lights went on this morning. Ornaments are being attached right now on this cool, drizzly Monday. King Tree Experts will be bringing a crane later this afternoon to lift it onto the roof. It is soooooooooo magical!!!
By far one of the best things that happens in Decatur over the Holiday Season!!! Thank you to all that make this possible for both the kids and adults.
I assume that the annual unveiling of the Festivus Pole will happen immediately afterwards at Trackside?
This post is dangerously close to being obscene.
And immediately thereafter, we will having the Airing of Grievances.
Take that, Macy’s !
It’s Greater in Decatur!!
