Female Cat Found in East Lake

Decatur Metro | May 13, 2013

20130512_091610

Todd writes in…

We have a cat that has shown up in our backyard in Olmsted and were hoping we could get her picture posted on Decatur Metro to see if we can find the owner. The cat has no microchip or collar, but seems to calm and taken care of to be a stray.

Found cat: long-haired, silver and gray, female cat has been found in our backyard in Olmsted Subdivision. Possibly a Main Coon mix (pictures attached). She doesn’t have a collar or microchip (scanned Saturday night at Village Vets of Decatur). She is very affectionate, litter trained, loves to be pet and even brushed. Please contact me if this is your cat or know of owner. Seems too well cared for to be a stray. Hoping owner is looking for her and we can reunite. Please feel free to share with local rescue groups.

If no one claims, we will need to find her a good home. Please let me know if interested.

The Sundial, Stone Mountain GA (pic submitted by DudeinDecatur)

Can’t tell if there’s a street in view here, but I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt!

HOLA! Mexican Cantina Opens Today

Decatur Metro | May 13, 2013

UPDATE: Scott F sends in this PDF of the HOLA! menu.

As mentioned on their Facebook page, HOLA! Mexican Cantina opens up in the old Atlanta Bread/Decatur Diner space on the corner of Church Street and Commerce Drive.  As Scott mentions in his jump-the-gun/post FFAF comment “Maybe they were just waiting for perfect outdoor margarita drinking weather.”

Chris writes in…

The beautiful Victorian gravesite of Miss Emily Pittman in the City of Decatur cemetery was rededication on Mothers Day, May 12. Cathy Vogel, David Crenshaw, Victor Donham, Nancy Sill and others from the Friends of Decatur Cemetery organization have worked for years to restore the gravesite. With funds from the Decatur Beer Festival, and the expertise of master blacksmith Ray Bowen, the site is now restored to its original look.

A wider shot of the gravesite and some of the volunteers who restored it, after the jump…
