Your 8 hour sleep link is actually linking to the Rabbit Tales info

I would be hopping mad if my school system tried to replace a playground or outdoor classroom with a cell tower, especially since that tower would generate profits for the school system, not the school. Hopefully nothing like that could happen in CSD, no matter who was in charge, without the School Leadership Team of the school in question approving it. This would be a school, not “systemic”, issue under the CSD system charter, I would hope.

I had been reading about this cell tower a while back and it was the final straw in our decision to buy in the city of Decatur as opposed to Postal Decatur or whatever the term should be. Of course there were other factors that went into our decision but this was truly the one that told us DeKalb County School District is not the place for us. I know there isn’t much evidence to PROVE that the towers are bad for your health but we’re talking about kids and their teachers being next to it every single day. Why take the chance? I’m with you in hoping something like this wouldn’t happen in CSD.

If someone were looking for a home in Dekalb, the elementary and high school in these neighborhoods are considered good. They’re fairly affluent, homes hold their value and I’m pretty surprised they couldn’t do anything to stop this. But this situation accurately depicts the problems with Dekalb, they’re going to do whatever they want to despite anything else. I wouldn’t want my kid going to school in a building with a big a** tower on top of it, especially at the expense of currently used play/instructional space.

Oh, yes! I had a super yummy salad at Red Pepper Taqueria recently. Would certainly recommend it.
