Nominate Your Favorite Area Restaurants for the Decatur Wine Festival
Decatur Metro | September 24, 2010
As you may already know, each year the Decatur Wine Festival hosts a number of area restaurants who provide free food at the event for hungry wine tasters. (If you’ve yet to purchase your tickets, you can still do so HERE)
Well this year, our friend Parker Cross has volunteered to recruit the dozen or so restaurants who will attend the November 6th festival and she’d love our help!
So she’s asking everyone out in the Decatur Metro ether to nominate their favorite area restaurants in the comments section of this post, and she will do her darnedest to get them in a booth at the Festival!

Cakes & Ale
Sliders from Farmburger would be good.
Pumpkin ravioli from Saba
Mac & Cheese from Community Q
Pretzels (with the addicting mustard) from Brick Store Pub
Pumpkin ravioli from Saba
Chicken Masala and Chipotle Maple Black Beans from Isabella’s
Leon’s for their frites and all the different dipping sauces
Cakes & Ale. Feast. Wahoo.
Jalapeno sliders from UJ
Roast chicken and the potatoes with the spicy cream sauce (Huancaina sauce) from Las Brasas
Warm chickpea, cherry, basil and provolone side from Leon’s
Brisket or pork tacos from Steinbeck’s
Cafe Lily. Saba.
Sun in My Belly, Cakes & Ale, Wahoo, Feast, Cafe Lily, Farmburgers, Saba, Cosmic Duck, Garlic Thai
taqueria del sol tacos
DQ – Heath Bar blizzards. oh, my…
Iberian Pig, barbecued octopus. No kidding.
Iberian Pig! Spousal unit loves their bacon-wrapped dates, I love their queso croquetas. Both would be great “with wine” snacks…
Feast!!! This restaurant, from its inception, has had an excellent, inexpensive wine list. When we feel like splurging a bit more on wine, their servers are knowledgeable and spot on in their recommendations.
2nd that, Dave. Great, inexpensive wine list at Feast. The grilled salmon ‘small plate’ on a cedar plank is great. Nice people, too!
Thank you all! These are great suggestions and when I talk to the restauranteurs I can refer to this thread and say, “Look! Your customers are asking for you.” More effective, I hope, than me, alone, with hat in hand.
I can pretty much assure you that both Feast and Farmstead will be there. Feast is a BFF to the Wine Festival.
Farmburger, Farmstead 303, Mezcalito’s (oakhurst)
