Zebra Sighting Clarifications
Decatur Metro | September 24, 2010For anyone still a bit confused about where and when you can see the traveling “Lima Lives” exhibit traveling around Decatur this evening, the Decatur Arts Alliance’s Angie Macon provides a few more details for us…
Lima Lives! will be seen in the downtown Decatur street scape projected by the artists throughout the area before projecting the image onto the front of the 315 West Ponce De Leon Avenue building for app. 30-45 minutes. No route information was provided. I would suggest everyone interested in this project enjoy a great fall evening in downtown Decatur and be on the lookout for Lima between 8 and 10 p.m. Perhaps the best viewing for the 315 W. Ponce de Leon Avenue would be anywhere from the corner of Ponce de Leon Avenue and Ponce de Leon Place west to Decatur CD–just a suggestion. This is art unrestrained by boundaries! Give me a call if you have questions.

Sorry. Call me artistically ignorant. I just don’t get it. It’s a picture. Of a zebra. On a wall.
Waiting for Lefty, Waiting for Godot, Waiting for Lima!
I’ll definitely be downtown tonight, checking it out. I have low expectations, so… blow me away Lima!
Don’t be like, that MC. I’m as averse to artsy-fartsy nonsense as the next guy, but I saw Lima early this morning as the artists were working out the kinks of the presentation. It’s way cooler than I expected. Absolutely worth the short trip to beautiful downtown Decatur.
Loved Lima! Thinking that the 315 building would be great for a Decatur Laser Show (minus Devil Went Down to GA)! Simple concept–lots of pleasure. Gorgeous night.
You’re right MC. It was a (moving) picture. Of a zebra. On a wall. And it was great. So happy I saw it.
Just wait till advertisers get hold of this concept! Does the building/wall owner have to give permission for projected images? I can imagine political ads, etc.
I looked at the video posted (didn’t make it to see it myself). I’ll admit that it looked cooler than I imagined.
I thought the Zebra show was AWESOME…. Quite captivating and mysterious! And a nice treat for my staff and my guests! I felt very fortunate to have it playing across the street for so long… And I agree – it’s a perfect place to show other media! And not to mention refreshing to see some attention paid to a place that’s NOT on the square! Ha!
