CONFIRMED: Leon's Full Service Opens Monday

    Decatur Metro | February 5, 2009 | 9:56 pm

The rainmaker Daren Wang confirms that Leon’s Full Service will open to the public on Monday, February 9th.

In other Leon’s news…the AJC is now following the the first pint auction story and John Kessler’s new food blog even gave me a hat tip for it!  That might be an AJC first…or second…

    $813 and counting…

I am anxious to see an updated web site with a menu! I’m a po’ folk, so I really hope it’s going to be affordably priced.

      Don’t count on it.

This has got to be the most expensive pint of beer ever sold.

Maybe they could add inclusion in the Guiness Book of World Records as an additional cool thing you get with the winning bid.

Would be funny if it actually was a pint of Guinness, but I guess that wouldn’t really be appropriate, as the point is to choose one of the in-house brews.

@lumpintheroad: I’m sure you’d be able to choose any ber you want – but they don’t have any “in-house” beers in the sense of being a brewpub like Twain’s.

I don’t quite understand the “custom drink” thing. What will they do? Mix a couple beers together?

Oh…and The Pint just broke the $1,000 mark.

Its a drink. Not a beer.

      They have a liquor license.

Ah…that wasn’t my issue. I was thinking the first pint would also be the “custom drink”…I’m confusing my own ramblings with stated facts.

I guess it could be a pint of liquor….or some kind of variation on a Jager-bomb. That would by mighty classy.

My plan is to buy the second beer for roughly $5, then spend an additional $1,000 on having my name legally changed to Robbie Sweetwater, thus ensuring that my name will always be on the menu. Same expense, same outcome, different method.

Soft opening tonight was wonderful. Frites were great, mussels were delish, beer was what you’d expect. The waffles were way cool, too.
