    Seen Gallery Reopening Downtown

    Decatur Metro | January 4, 2009

Carl has given us the heads up about the Seen Gallery’s relocation in the old “Houseworks” T-Mobile space, but now he sends along the details from a recent email…

The Seen Gallery is presently relocating to downtown Decatur. We will be conveniently located at 415 Church Street, two doors down from Java Monkey coffee and wine bar and one door down from Mingei World Arts, directly across from the Decatur Marta train station.

We, and our talented artists, are tremendously excited about the new space and the opportunity to more efficiently serve the art community. The move comes at a very good time for us as we close out our best year ever in placing art in the homes and businesses of collectors of art nationwide. The new space is much more conducive to the display, and sales, of art. The newer, modern, building will also not have the many environmental and security issues, detrimental to art preservation and safekeeping, that we have not been successful in remedying in our previous location.

Plan to attend our sneak preview on Friday, January 23 7-10 pm and our “Grand Reopening” on Saturday, March 7, 7-10 pm.

Mingei and the other merchants on Church are thrilled to welcome Seen to the block! They will be in the old T-Mobile space. The old Houseworks space is still open. Anyone else want to be our neighbor?

Actually, The Seen Gallery will be moving into both the old “t-mobile’ site and the currently occupied “Two Stixs” space next door. We already have possession of the ‘t-mobile’ space and will have possession of the ‘Two Stix’ space on January 15. We are very lucky in that the two spaces have a door between them, many track lighting fixtures already installed, share the same HVAC system, etc. Even though it is a slightly smaller space than we were in before, the space can be configured much more imaginatively, resulting in more room to hang and display art. We are tremendously excited about the prospects of being in that location and hope that we can add to the vibrancy that is already a part of downtown Decatur. feel free to just just drop in if you see us working on displays, painting, or what have you

I thought my earlier message about the location was very clear. I’m sorry that there was confusion about the actual space, as this is exactly what I’d expressed before.

No need to apologize Carl…it was my bad for not looking back at your previous comment.

Great spot, in my opinion….Leon’s will have overflow constantly.
