Big Peach Running Co. Coming to Decatur
Decatur Metro | March 5, 2008
InDecatur got a tip that Big Peach was moving into the old Potato Finger location at 114 E. Trinity (behind City Hall/across the street from Chik-Fil-A) and the Big Peach website confirms it!
Here’s the website’s blurb…
EVEN MORE EXCITING NEWS!We are also thrilled to announce that BPRC’s 4th store is coming to delightfulDowntown Decatur:114 East Trinity PlaceDecatur, GA 30030
Thanks BPRC Family! We couldn’t do it without you!!
I’m the one that’s “delighted”!
My wife and I bought our most recent pair of running sneaks at the Big Peach on Peachtree Road. They analyze the way you walk on a treadmill, then use a special machine to look at your foot characteristics to get you into the perfect pair of sneakers. After that, they’ll recommend certain types of running shoes to you, but ultimately you’re free to try on as many pairs of sneaks as you need to before finding the right pair (ask my wife!). The customer service is second to none in my opinion.
Yes they cost a little more than going to a department store, but after you’ve been there once, you’ll realize that there is a big difference between a sneaker you randomly pull off the shelf and one that’s “made” for your foot!
Don’t forget about our long-time friends in Oakhurst–locally owned (by a long-time resident & Decatur High graduate) “One Step at a Time.”
I second the recommendation for One Step at a Time. Charles has an encyclopedic knowledge of running/walking shoes. He has put me in shoes that have taken me through many Peachtrees, a marathon, a few random 5k’s here and there, and a soon to be triathlon.
I used to spend a lot of time researching what kind of shoe to get each time I got a new pair. I have outsourced all of that laborious research to Charles. Now I just walk in, tell him what type of running I am doing and he brings out two or three great options and then helps me pick the best pair.
Great customer service to boot.
My time in Oakhurst thus far has been relatively limited (compared to downtown Decatur) and I’ve never actually visited One Step At A Time, so thanks Kathy and Brandy for giving the store its due.
I’ve also added it to the sidebar.
