Other Bennet Sister Cast Donal Finn

The new 10-episode series titled The Other Bennet Sister, a BritBox and BBC collaboration inspired by the novel by Janice Hadlow, shines a spotlight on Mary Bennet (portrayed by Ella Bruccoleri of Call the Midwife fame), the middle sister from Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice. The show has recently expanded its cast to include Ruth Jones (known from Gavin & Stacey) and Richard E. Grant (of The Outlaws) as the parents of Mary.

Joining the cast as Mary’s sisters are Maddie Close, Poppy Gilbert (Stay Close, Chloe), Molly Wright (The A Word), and Grace Hogg-Robinson (Flatmates), who will be portraying Jane, Lizzie, Kitty, and Lydia, respectively.

Indira Varma and Richard Coyle are set to bring to life Mr. and Mrs. Gardiner, Mary’s cosmopolitan aunt and uncle. They play a pivotal role in Mary’s development, taking her in as a governess to their three children—Marianne (Roisin Bhalla), George (Reggie Absolom), and Rebecca (Jasmine Sharp)—and introducing her to a vibrant social circle that includes Mr. Hayward (played by Dónal Finn from The Wheel of Time), Mr. Ryder (Laurie Davidson from Will), and Ann Baxter (Varada Sethu from Doctor Who).

Other characters from the Austen universe making appearances include Caroline Bingley (Tanya Reynolds from Sex Education), Charlotte Lucas (Anna Fenton-Garvey), and Mr. Collins (Ryan Sampson from Brassic).

New characters introduced in the series include Varada Sethu as Ann Baxter and Aaron Gill as John Sparrow.

Shooting for The Other Bennet Sister is currently taking place in Wales. While a specific release date has yet to be announced, the series is set to be available for streaming on BritBox in North America, and on BBC iPlayer and BBC One in the UK.
