The artist behind “Bloody Mary,” a song embraced by fans of the show, plays a role in the series’ second season and contributes a new track to its soundtrack.

Lady Gaga is set to blend singing with acting in her latest endeavor. Her involvement in the second season of Wednesday was first revealed by Variety in November, portraying the legendary teacher Rosaline Rotwood at Nevermore. Variety now reports that the star of Joker: Folie à Deux has created a new song titled Dead Dance specifically for the eerie series.

The track is expected to be released in September alongside the series premiere, coinciding with her brief appearance on screen. The song is produced by Andrew Watt and Cirkus, who are also her collaborators on her current tour album, Mayhem.

Viral Hits

Her casting alongside Jenna Ortega is no coincidence: following the release of the first season, her 2011 track Bloody Mary from the album Born This Way went viral across social media platforms. Fans everywhere attempted to mimic the unique choreography of the main character, who danced to The Cramps’ Goo Goo Muck in the show, catapulting the song to new heights of popularity and linking Lady Gaga’s music with Tim Burton’s creation.
