Hooray For Clay, which was scheduled to renovate and open this year in the old Spencer Tire store on East Howard Avenue, tells DM that the potential renovation costs have forced them to walk away from the location.

The store owners are currently negotiating for a new space in Midtown.

As my wife observed yesterday, this latest addition to Decatur must have involved some serious clean up.

An “Hooray For Clay” sign has been erected over the old, long vacant “Spencer Tire Co.” location on E. Howard Ave.  The new ceramics studio already has a website, which exclaims…

Hooray for Clay is a working ceramics studio and gallery specially designed to provide families the perfect opportunity to experience the creative possibilities of clay.

No matter what the occasion, Hooray for Clay has the facilities, and instructors to help your group or family get creative, de-stress and have fun.

The website also notes that the studio will open some time in the new year.
