NCIS: Tony & Ziva Sets September Premiere Date on Paramount+

The eagerly awaited spinoff from Paramount+, NCIS: Tony & Ziva, often referred to as NCIS: TIVA, is set to make its debut. Fans of the series can mark their calendars for its premiere on Thursday, Sept. 4. The show will launch with the first three episodes available immediately on Paramount+ across multiple regions including the U.S., Canada, the UK, Australia, Latin America, Brazil, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and Japan. Subsequent episodes will be released weekly on Thursdays, with the season finale scheduled for Oct. 23.

Stars and executive producers Cote de Pablo and Michael Weatherly expressed their excitement about the project, stating, “We’re thrilled to open the next chapter of Tony and Ziva’s story to our amazing global fanbase who have eagerly awaited this moment. Stepping back into these roles after over a decade has been a journey filled with twists, excitement, and even self-driving murder cars (you’ll understand soon). It’s an exhilarating adventure you don’t want to miss. As they say in Paris: Accrochez-vous bien!”

The development of this new branch of the widely beloved NCIS series was officially announced by Paramount+ in February 2024. This project reunites Weatherly and de Pablo, who last appeared together on-screen in October 2013, reprising their roles as the iconic duo Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David.

The storyline begins with Tony and Ziva living in Paris, raising their young daughter Tali (played by Isla Gie from The Outlaws). Their lives take a dramatic turn when Tony’s security business becomes the target of an attack, forcing the family to flee and embark on a perilous journey across Europe to secure their future. The series, which includes ten episodes, was filmed in diverse locations such as Budapest, the Canary Islands, and Paris, wrapping up in late January.

Michael Weatherly shared his thoughts on returning to his role, “It’s surprising how naturally Cote and I found our rhythm with these characters again, shaped by their past but facing a new future together. This series is truly an epic adventure, not just for the characters but for the audience as well.” De Pablo also hinted at the show’s blend of intrigue, romance, and thrilling scenarios set against picturesque European backdrops, promising that it will complicate the lives of Ziva and Tony significantly, yet also explore themes of love.

The additional cast includes Lara Rossi as Tali’s highly skilled SAS-trained nanny Sophie, Amita Suman as Claudette the tech wizard, Maximilian Osinski as elusive hacker Boris, and James D’Arcy as a high-ranking Interpol officer named Henry. Other notable cast members are Nassima Benchicou as Martine, a former spy; Julian Ovenden as Jonah, a former NSA programmer now with Interpol; and Terence Maynard as Dr. Lang, a therapist specializing in severe traumas.

John McNamara, who co-created several popular TV shows, is the showrunner for this series. He expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to delve into a thrilling, romantic, and dangerous narrative that spans across Europe, allowing for a deeper exploration of Tony and Ziva’s complex relationship and their challenges as co-parents in a high-stakes environment.

Reflecting on the characters’ journey, it’s noted that Ziva left NCIS and was presumed dead later, while Tony departed to care for their daughter Tali, whose existence he had just discovered. A surprising twist revealed Ziva to be alive, leading to an off-screen reunion in Paris. Weatherly’s recent cameo in an NCIS episode left fans speculating about the current status of Ziva and Tali.

The premiere of NCIS: Tony & Ziva is scheduled for this fall on Paramount+, as confirmed by CBS Studios president David Stapf. He emphasized that the show was always intended for streaming to cater to its global audience, aiming to continue one of the most captivating love stories of the series.
