At il Bracco, the interior design team from MMAISON Interiors drew inspiration from Italian Modernism to craft a dining atmosphere that is both high-end and welcoming.

Set in the picturesque resort area of Scottsdale, Arizona, studio founders Mary Lu Quick and Mary Bryan partnered with the Western Addition restaurant group to focus on the outdoor-centric lifestyle prevalent in this desert locale. Quick explains, “Our goal was to create a space that feels both relaxed like a vacation spot and chic enough for an elegant dinner outing.”

Design That Marries Function and Aesthetic

The design experts utilized a diverse mix of materials across the two-story establishment, optimizing for both style and resilience in areas frequented by guests. A cork-made greeter stand at the entrance introduces texture that echoes the speckled patterns of the flooring. Sliding glass doors lead to an inviting patio, perfect for guests coming from a leisurely golf game.

Interior tones of walnut and white oak strike the right balance of coziness and sophistication, highlighted by a unique patchwork on the rear wall. The cream-colored bricks lend a faded, sun-kissed look that harmonizes with the dark wooden tables. The seating, featuring leather booths with neatly piped detailing, mirrors the craftsmanship of a finely tailored suit.

Reflecting the elegance of classic Italian design, polished chrome accents remind one of the sleek boats on Lake Como. The color scheme features sage greens and deep browns, accented with touches of yellow that cast a warm, sepia-toned glow across the dining space.

Unexpected Elegance

The restroom area unexpectedly transports guests to the glamour of 1970s Italy, with a lavish combination of travertine and Calacatta marble underfoot. Vintage-styled metal door fixtures add a sense of historical depth, resembling cherished antiques. The walls, covered in square ceramic tiles with a cola hue, bathe the space in a glossy, immersive ambiance.
