Another comment here recently that assumed Decatur was seeing an increase in crime prompted me to ask Decatur PD to update this year’s crime stats. And as it turns out – yet again – crime isn’t up, it’s just crime reporting that’s increased.  See the charts below…

While the state schools superintendent race on the Republican side remains too close to call, Democrats have their candidate.

Former Decatur school board chief Valarie Wilson scored a decisive win Tuesday night over state Rep. Alisha Thomas Morgan by a vote of 54 percent to 46 percent.
