AJC Review of Emory Village’s Ink & Elm
Decatur Metro | December 6, 2013
As has become common with many AJC restaurant reviews, the full Ink & Elm review is behind a paywall, but you can still find the gist of it here. And here’s the opening blurb as well…
When you visit, you’ll have to make a choice. Will it be Ink or Elm?
Venture left and you’ll hit Ink, the lower-priced, more casual tavern bursting with brown spirits and craft beers. Head to the right and you’ll enter Elm, the restaurant’s take on fine dining with a focus on wine and cocktails.

We ate on the “Elm” side about a month ago. The food was conservative but quite good. I saw no evidence of chaos in the kitchen (and we could see alot of the BoH activity) but just a bit from the service staff.
We felt a little out of place, however. ( we’re spoiled by the atmosphere of C&A, Kimball, One Eared Stag, etc) This felt like a power lunch or dinner spot, or a place to take your aging visitors from out of town. It’s a good choice if that’s what you’re looking for. But: there was almost had a chain-y vibe to it. And the Yanni-esque music? Shoot me.
We intend to try the Ink side, but haven’t yet. I guess we’ll have to wait til things calm down a bit.
“And the Yanni-esque music? Shoot me.”
It’s real Yanni or nothing for you, eh?
