Little Creek Farm Fall Festival This Saturday!

Decatur Metro | October 18, 2011

Jane writes in…

I’m hoping you will post about an upcoming event at a nearby Dekalb County park – Little Creek Horse Farm.  We are having our yearly Fall Festival on October 22nd.  This is our big fund raising event, and we’d like to get the word out to the community.

The event involves pony rides,  a silent auction, horse and rider demonstrations, a live bluegrass band, food, and games for the kids. Little Creek Farm Conservancy, sponsor of the event, works in concert with the County to provide for the upkeep of the barn and premises.  In addition, monies raised also go to support our community outreach programs:  Stride Ahead Therapeutic Riding, for developmentally and physically disabled children and adults, individually and through the Shepherd Spinal Center; Horses for Homeless Heroes, working with homeless veterans; Hands on Horses barn tours for both the community at large, a well as with various facilities such as Wesley Woods, C.H.O.I.C.E, and other adult residential living situations.
