It’s a great festival and a real neighborhood asset. Q: will there be a manure sale this year? My garden has benefited greatly in the past!

I am really glad the County stepped up to protect this land for future generations!
Are you doing out- reach to in-town schools (like Decatur and especially Atlanta)? What a great opportunity this is for these kids who may otherwise never get to experience horses, nature etc.

The family who owned the property sold it to the County a few years ago. Recently, the barn/stable was renovated, and the Conservancy (which you all should join!) is now raising money to improve the indoor and outdoor riding arenas. All the horses are privately owned, but riding lessons are available. We also support outreach programs at the barn for developmentally delayed youth and adults, homeless veterans, spinal cord injury patients (through the Shepherd Center,) at-risk youth, and the elderly. There’s a lot going on around the barn!

I think it used to be family-owned and then was sold to county with some kind of agreement to continue the farm.
