Oakhurst Cooperative Preschool Moving to New Location

    Decatur Metro | August 20, 2011

Kelly sends along this press release…

Green Preschool in Decatur moving to a new location for the 2011-2012 School Year!

School starts September 6th, 2011 at the new facility located at 830 W. College Avenue, Decatur, Georgia.

    Atlanta, GA – August 17, 2011
Oakhurst Cooperative Preschool is proud to announce that it is leasing a building from Thankful Missionary Baptist Church in Oakhurst. This new location will better accommodate OCP students, families, and the community with generous classroom and green space. The building offers approximately 4500 square feet for classroom and community activities, as well as over 6000 square feet of green space for outside play, exploration, and gardening.

The 2011 school year will kick off on Tuesday, September 6, 2011, and the end date of the semester is Tuesday, December 20, 2011 (coinciding with the City Schools of Decatur academic calendar).

“This is exciting and satisfying news for us to share with the Decatur community and surrounding neighborhoods,” said Christine Cox, President of Oakhurst Cooperative Preschool.  “The board, our committees, and the parent community of our school have worked tremendously hard to make this a reality, and we are thrilled that it will help us to advance our strategic goals and mission.”

There are currently one or two spaces left in most classes for older 2’s, 3’s and 4’s. OCP Board Member Julie Vazquez urges families to contact the school quickly so they can get fully enrolled before the fast-approaching start of school. Contact Julie at admissions@oakhurstcoop.com for more information about enrollment.

Now it will be a lot closer to Oakhurst, its moniker, right?

Karass, now the preschool isn’t just close to Oakhurst, it is IN Oakhurst! :) The school is called Oakhurst Cooperative Preschool b/c it was Oakhurst families who originally founded the school 7 years ago. It’s a fabulous school with its own space now. Yay!

Yes — in fact it will be in Oakhurst across the street from Avellino’s…
