Here’s the story as I heard it, but I have no confirmation of the facts:

The family at this address was moving some stuff with their car. The dad asked the son to move the car, but something happened where it started to roll down their very steep driveway and it hit the dad.

I don’t know how the dad is doing, but I believe he was moving around OK. Three police cars, a fire truck and an ambulance all joined the party.

How sad. Cars and driveways cause a lot of unexpected tragedies. Besides those horrifying stories of grandfathers backing up over toddlers, I knew a guy in high school who was helping his Dad change a tire in the driveway and somehow the car fell on his foot, crushing it real good. Luckily teens heal well. Wonder if he has problems with his joints now, many years later.

There was an accident sometime late this afternoon at Scott and Clairemont today. An accident there is not exactly newsworthy–they happen all the time–except that traffic was still real slow at ~6:00 PM when I was last there. It was just starting to get bad around 4:45 PM when I previously when through the intersection. Two police cars, one police motorcycle, a bashed up white sedan, and some people standing around. Didn’t see any rescue vehicles.

It might not be a good idea to post pictures like this – we don’t need any rumor or speculation on the details of an incident flying around the community. A tree falling is one thing, but a vague photo of a situation that allows others to comment – or make insensitive jokes (see above) – might be best left off the page.
