Car Missing in Oakhurst

LOST CAR.
My beloved 1995 Gold Honda Accord station wagon (tag 530 ZSX) ran off last night, possibly (well, definitely) in the company of ne’erdowells, from our home in Oakhurst. If anyone sees it, I would appreciate a call to the Decatur Police.

There was a burgandy Honda Accord, looked to be about the same year, on Oakview this morning with its driver’s side window smashed. There was a Decatur Police officer there investigating at 7:45 am when I passed by. Maybe the bad guys were looking for Honda Accords to steal last night. Maybe it is related.
A 1996 Honda Accord “red in color” was stolen from Avondale Condos between 5:30 pm Friday 12/11 to Saturday, 12/12.
I tried to find the link to an article I read about a year ago without success. The jist of that article was that as car security becomes more advanced (Lojack, smart keys), thieves will be more inclined to steal older model vehicles and less adverse to car jacking for the newest models.
So in a perverse sense, the more secure our cars become; the less secure their owners are.
Sorry to hear that and I hope it turns out well, but you probably do not want the police to find the car. Chances are it will be stripped, and if they find it in such a condition, your insurance company will cut you a check for far less than you deserve.
I had a car stolen once, and the reaction of the DeKalb PD was laughable. It’s insured property, they said, so we will do nothing to investigate, even though we almost certainly had the perp’s fingerprints on our second car (which they did not steal). I suspect the Decatur PD would actually care, so best of luck.
Accords are actually the most stolen cars. There are so many of them that the parts are easily sold off.

I agree with not wanting to get it back – unless, of course, you had personal items in it.
Either way, be sure to tell the insurer there was a Picasso in the trunk.
Sorry, Jonathan. Your announcement was nicely written. It feels rotten to have your car stolen.
