Decatur sure has some vicious residents. Maybe the person driving had a stroke? Swerved to miss a pedestrian? Was being carjacked? Any way you look at it, the owner will have a heavy towing and repair expense.
Flame me all you want for taking this too seriously, but these comments are shameful.
Well, dang, Token– imagine you having some compassion that isn’t conservative.
Seriously, though, you do have a good point. I guess people tend to feel freer to make with the snark about BMW drivers, since it seems the general perception is that folks who drive high end cars must automatically be somewhat douchey, and ergo, more deserving of snark than oh, say, your garden-variety Prius or Mini drivers.
That being said, I laughed aloud at Parker’s second post– that was FUNNY!
2. I have a very good sense of humor. It just doesn’t respond to situations where people get hurt or damage items of value.
3. My point is that people who live in a town that prides itself on liberalism and caring for others finds an unsettling joy at this person’s misfortune.
4. No one seems to have learned the lesson from a few months ago. That was the woman with a mohawk who had a car accident in Oakhurst. People found that immensely hilarious until it was pointed out she’s a cancer survivor.
5. I’m not here to speak for you or polish your image. I speak only for myself and couldn’t care less about your image.
Weird, I’ve heard of conservatives claiming to not be republicans, not sure I have heard of a republican claiming to not be a conservative. Well, whatever floats your boat. However, it is not my image I am worried about, as I am also not a conservative. Btw, the anger shining through on your post still warrants the statement that you lack a sense of humor; maybe you are just having an off day…
Really? So all Republicans are conservatives? Just as all Democrats are liberals? Sorry, that assumption is just plain wrong. I know many in my party who do not consider themselves conservatives, and I know many Democrats who do not consider themselves liberals. So…whatever floats your boat.
And that wasn’t anger shining through. It was just an acknowledgement of your irrelevance to my posts.
“3. My point is that people who live in a town that prides itself on liberalism and caring for others finds an unsettling joy at this person’s misfortune.”
The caption says it’s a Dunwoody parking deck. Maybe you didn’t get the memo (or this week’s Creative Loafing), but Dunwoody is the hot whipping boy of the Fall season.
C’mon, Token– gallows humor is what some folk use to deal with unpleasant things. As for the Mohawk woman’s being a cancer survivor, that claim came from someone purporting to be her. Even if the poster was who she calimed to be, I didn’t actually buy into what she said. I could be wrong, but something just rang untrue about it for me. Not saying you didn’t have a good point in your first post, just saying that a) we weren’t trying to be mean or uncaring, and b) you can’t always believe what you read on an anonymous blog.
“3. My point is that people who live in a town that prides itself on liberalism and caring for others finds an unsettling joy at this person’s misfortune.”
I have seen this same argument made by Repubicans/conservatives numerous times. What exactly do Republicans/conservatives hope to achieve by bringing up this point each time they think a Democrat/liberal has been insufficiently tolerant or considerate?
How do you respond to Democrats/liberals telling you how other Republicans/conservatives are such hypocrites every time their actions contradict their supposed beliefs (e.g. Bristol Palin’s out-of-wedlock baby, Larry Craig’s toe-tapping with men, etc.)?
Kind of mysterious…is the driver in there? If not, did the brakes go out while the car was parked? I can’t imagine just leaving your car like that and going to work.
“EPIC FAIL!” as my kids would say.
Smart people. Smart place.
The smartest!
Classic.
Bummer bimmer.
Save Ferris.
but it’s not in reverse!
SUV wannabe.
“I drive better after five cups of coffee!”
God I hate 16″ wheels on any BMW.
You prefer 24’s?
What size should be on there? my e30’s always had 14/15″s but the M5 comes as high as 19/20″ stock
I’d say 20. I am totally serial.
Thank goodness he didn’t try to park on the upper level!
Wonder if this is the Interchange Building? Sorta looks like the deck there, though I’m sure they all look alike.
I’ve been aiming to get one good belly laugh out of each day. Check.
I guess quaaludes are back? No one told me.

“I advise that this place be shut up at once.”
“But everybody’s having such a good time.”
When someone steps on a banana peel and slips it’s comedy.
When I slip on a banana peel, it’s tragedy.
Wow. Conservatives have a problem with a whole “lack of a sense of humor” image. Thank you for your contribution…

I didn’t say it was possible, I’m just saying I haven’t heard it before. It’s certainly possible.
This has been fun. Thank you.
Agreed. Let’s go rag on Al Gore in the other post and irritate the liberals.
My heart is warming.
:::teary eyed:::
Now you’re talking!
“3. My point is that people who live in a town that prides itself on liberalism and caring for others finds an unsettling joy at this person’s misfortune.”

So, once you become a cancer survivor, nothing about you can be funny anymore? I’ll file that away for future reference.
Very creative twist of my words. What you’re missing is…oh, never mind. Not worth it.
We’d be at this all day if DM let us. If you want, I’ll wave the white flag and we can move on with our day (which, by the way, I’m quite enjoying).
Now if only real-life Repubs and Dems could agree to get along.
Hey, you are not suggesting I am a Dem are you? That’s not a joke, I’m certainly not a Dem (or a liberal, right DTR?).
Haha! I’ll tell you DTR, as a Libertarian, and you a non-conservative Republican, something tells me we would get along swimmingly.
Since Libertarians are rarely elected they don’t really count, do they?
They count their money…
I have no idea what that means, btw (my previous post).
What!? [What follows is the re-unfolding discussion of the funny off limits...]

My guess: Person was late and gunning it to get out of space but was in Drive when they thought they were in Reverse.
Look on the bright side. Three feet to the left and the driver might be dead.
Smart people, smart place, but maybe not such a smart car.
I prefer to think this was just a good Southerner who didn’t see why he/she should park on asphalt when grass parking was available.
(Lest anyone think this is a mean-spirited comment, I myself park on a grass “driveway”. All that asphalt is killing our polar bears.)
