Name the Decatur Book Festival Monster!

    Decatur Metro | July 7, 2010

Name this AJC Decatur Book Festival monster over on Access Atlanta and you might win an Apple iPad, courtesy of Onyx Consulting!  (Apple requires all sentences including the word “iPad” must end in an exclamation point.)

Then come back here and let us know what you submitted as your name for Crowny McHatty Cane.

After the jump, you’ll find a humorous video of what happened the last time this monster visited Decatur Square.  (What, no zombies?)

He looks like what I imagine a hybrid of the Jabberwok & a Frumious Bandersnatch would look like…

Ladies & gentlemen, we bring you the Jabbersnatch! (For the humour-impaired: of course I’m not being serious.)

      • Garrett Goebel says:
        July 8, 2010 at 7:24 pm

I had the same thought. At first, I figured Jabberwalky might fit the bill, but inspired by Carroll, I decided to submit “Slithy” :)

Just a general FYI, he’s based on Max from Where the Wild Things Are, Ignatius from Confederacy of Dunces, and James Joyce from Dublin.

Although that doesn’t mean that Threesausus isn’t the best name evah. I hope WPMom submitted that officially. (As should everyone else.)

I see that, but why are they dragons?

          @Writerchad–Yes.
@Naaman–Why not? Really, we just did something silly.

I ask because, thank the generous universe my children no longer watch Dragon Tales–but it reminds me of the incredibly irritating two headed dragon on that awful show.

              July 8, 2010 at 3:43 pm

I was sitting in the lobby over at WABE the other day and that show was on. It looked dreadful, and the resemblance occurred to me as well. I was kinda bummed about it.

              July 8, 2010 at 4:02 pm

{{{cringe}}} Now my brain is humming the god awful song. ‘…it’s almost time for dragon tales…’

              • "Naaman" Gibbets says:
                July 11, 2010 at 10:25 am

Now, when they can, my kids will watch Ben 10 or Generator Rex–both are fairly odd shows and they watch them when I’m not watching Phineas and Ferb.

        thanks, i did!
