MetroPCS To Move Into “Classy Fashions” Space
Decatur Metro | May 12, 2010With the recent announcement that Cakes & Ale would move from its current location at West Ponce de Leon Ave and Ponce Place into three spaces to the immediate south of the MARTA plaza along Church Street, it was unclear what would happen to the current occupants of those three retail spots.
Well, thanks to a hand-made sign, we now know that one of those tenants is making a short move up Church Street, across the MARTA entrance plaza, into the space recently vacated by “Classy Fashions”.

Couldn’t they have chosen a hipper more modern font? It’s like they went to the hand-written sign store and just opted for an off-the-shelf solution. Lame, just lame. Also, don’t we have enough phone stores. I would’ve preferred a crepe shoppe.
We’re not increasing our phone stores (just shuffling them about)….. But, I’ll still second your crepe store idea…
BTW, here’s lame joke of the day for the font police:
A default Sans Serif font walks into a bar. The bartender says, “Sorry, we don’t serve your type here!”
mmmm, crepes! (I’m jumping on the mockbandwagon, but kinda serious!)
That would be describeination.
The Yogurt Tap had crepes one night – I hope they bring them back!
Am I the only one that picked up on the fact that writerchad was riffing on the epic Decatur Diner thread?
No, lump you are not! I read through that entire diner thread yesterday. Took me a good 20 minutes or so.
I was personally hoping for a custom-made trilby haberdashery.
What this town really needs is some sort of synthetic hair emporium.
With the Arts Festival arriving soon, the artsy, hand made sign is perfect!
this is a great day for decatur
One more occupied store front from a business that is doing well enough to relocate rather than fold up shop is good news.
And the hand drawn metro sans serif is already an improvement over the “Classy” font above it. Take that, type police.
I want a Brad Steele’s Porn Emporium.
