Zocalo Space To Go Italian?
Decatur Metro | May 11, 2008Rus (again!) reports that sources close (literally in proximity) to the old Zocalo location on the Square are saying that it will become an Italian restaurant. There are definite signs of construction going on behind closed doors.
As someone who is absolutely spoiled by Italian pastries when I visit the in-laws outside of NYC, I yearn for an Italian bakery. But hopefully this new place will at least satiate that desire with their desert menu.
Or I could just drag my butt to Oakhurst and check out Calavino’s!

I heard that it will be Zucca Bar and Pizzaria. I looked up their other locations (Kennesaw and Smyrna), and it looks like “bar food” as opposed to authentic Italian. I hope I’m wrong!

Really, if you haven’t been to Calvino’s yet, you should go, and not just for the italian. Brunch is good, wine list is interesting. And the deck is comfy!
