The condo development along Hillyer that prompted the creation of the Old Decatur Historic District a couple years back seems to have been scrapped by its current owner.

After months of back and forth with the neighborhood and HPC, this project was all but ready to begin last fall. Now, the softening of the real estate market seems to have scared the developer off completely.

Decatur’s been looking a bit like a battleground of late.

To go along with Next Stop…Decatur’s pics of the knocked down DHS auditorium, here are a couple pics I took on Trinity yesterday.

The first is quite obviously the former home of the Relax Inn.

The second is next door, where the temporary City Hall building once stood. (As my wife points out, the resulting detritus is still in need of fencing)
